Running playlist to stay motivated
It’s middle of the spring (with summer arriving faster than we can imagine, I’m sure) so we figured it’s a perfect time to bring out a running/workout mix for us to get moving and start to feel more active again! (I for sure could use this, the pandemic has not been easy on my body!)
There is a lot of research out there that shows running with music can help you stay motivated, run longer, or in some cases run faster. It’s great! I personally also love to run without music every now and then (and just listen to the sounds of the city) but something like 90% of my runs are with a playlist. I’ll often spend more time on my playlist than I will on my run, but that’s just the life of a mix tape artist, right?
Here’s the mix we put together — this week we organized it as a “side A” (Matt’s picks) and a “side B” (my picks). Here’s the full 12 songs:
The Distance by CAKE
Juice (Know The Ledge) by Eric B. & Rakim
Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall by Coldplay
Runaways by The Killers
Notorious Thugs by The Notorious B.I.G.
Workin’ Day and Night by Michael Jackson
Knights of Cydonia by Muse
Gold Guns Girls by Metric
Toxicity by System Of A Down
One Step Closer by Linkin Park
The Hand That Feeds by Nine Inch Nails
‘Till I Collapse by Eminem, Nate Dogg

If you prefer to listen to it with music embedded, you’ll need to listen on Spotify podcasts available here.
Of course you can also listen to the mix itself here on Spotify, too:
